There will be a partial closure of a section of the Mackenzie King Estate parking lot (P6) as part of the Parkways welcome infrastructure project. This closure will impact both the access and the capacity of the parking lot.
- Schedule: August 24 to September 11, 2026
- Location: Mackenzie King Estate parking lot (P6) and the section of Mackenzie King Road, from Barnes Road to P6
- Impact on pedestrians and cyclists: No impact
- Impact on motorists: The parking lot capacity will be reduced. Access to P6 via municipal roads (Barnes) will be unavailable for the duration of the work
- Until September 11: The exit road from the parking lot to the Champlain Parkway will be subject to alternating traffic
- Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: The Estate parking lot will be accessible via the shuttle only
- Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, and Labor Day: Access to the parking lot via the parkways only, following the parkways schedule. Access via municipal roads (Barnes road) is not available
- Impact on Free Gatineau Park Shuttle: No impact
