In 1967, the NCC began developing this series of courtyards behind the buildings’ fronting on Sussex Drive.
Spanning four housing blocks, the Sussex Courtyards feature one of the capital’s oldest neighbourhoods. The courtyards, which have been preserved and developed as part of our architectural heritage, provide a unique urban experience in Canada’s capital.

- Public transit: Major transit providers in the National Capital Region offer routes that stop near the site. Use their travel planners to find the best bus route (OC Transpo or STO).
- Vehicle access: Paid parking is available on Pioneer Road. Free and paid parking are also available in the ByWard Market, and paid underground parking is available at the National Gallery of Canada.
