Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you. You also have the right to request its correction if you believe that there is an error or omission.

We will process your request promptly, per legislative deadlines.

Make a request

You can make a request to view your personal information online or by mail, at no cost.

Using the Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) online request service is a quick and convenient way to submit a request.

You can either:

  • print and fill out the Personal Information Request Form, or
  • write a letter stating clearly that you are requesting access to your personal information under the Privacy Act.

Ask for a correction

If you notice an error in your personal information after you’ve received a response to your privacy request, you can ask for a correction by mail, at no cost.

You can either:

  • print and fill out the Record Correction Form, or
  • write a letter stating clearly that you are requesting the correction of your personal information under the Privacy Act.

Redress

You can file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner if you are dissatisfied with how we handled your privacy request or your correction request.
