Please take note of the following before your visit.
Meech Lake is the closest Gatineau Park lake to the city. It features two beaches (O’Brien and Blanchet) and a launch for non-motorized boats, and is a great starting point for hiking.
There are private homes, cottages, boathouses and docks on Meech lake and along its shoreline. In order to respect the peace and tranquility of local residents, a quiet time has been set from 9 pm to 7 am. Accessing private property is not permitted at any time.
During the swimming season, O'Brien (P11) and Blanchet (P13) beaches are supervised and tested for bacteriological water quality.
Open water swimming is permitted at Meech Lake from middle of May to middle of October. Follow safety measures and instructions.
Launching boats, including paddleboards, is only allowed from McCloskey boat launch (P12).
In summer, nearby Wolf Trail and Carbide Willson Ruins are great places to explore.
