Please take note of the following before your visit.

Meech Lake with people on the water.

Meech Lake is the closest Gatineau Park lake to the city. It features two beaches (O’Brien and Blanchet) and a launch for non-motorized boats, and is a great starting point for hiking.

Important

  • Meech Lake is an ecosystem of great ecological importance. Please follow the principles of outdoor ethics.
  • There is no potable water at Meech Lake. Be sure to bring enough for your needs.
  • Dogs and pets are not permitted at Gatineau Park lakes, beaches and picnic areas.
  • On weekends and warm summer days, Meech Lake parking lots fill up early—have a plan B!

Visiting Meech Lake

There are private homes, cottages, boathouses and docks on Meech lake and along its shoreline. In order to respect the peace and tranquility of local residents, a quiet time has been set from 9 pm to 7 am. Accessing private property is not permitted at any time.

  • Parking: There are three parking lots along Meech Lake (P11, P12 and P13). Schedule, geolocation and pricing.
  • Washrooms: There are washrooms and change rooms available at the beaches.
  • Picnic area: There are picnic tables at the beaches.
