To help people make informed decisions when engaging in outdoor activities, we have installed counters at various places in our network to get information about the number of people using NCC sites.

Parkways
The NCC offers parkways for active users in Ottawa.
Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway: 8 am to 4 pm (weekend)
We counted an average of 650 visits per day.
Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway: 8 am to 4 pm (weekend)
We counted an average of 650 visits per day.
Colonel By Drive: At all times
We counted an average of 250 visits per day.
Gatineau Park
For the period of October 4th to October 11th, the Gatineau Park parkways were generally busy between 10 am and noon, during the week and weekends.

Champlain, Gatineau and Fortune Lake parkways are open to motor vehicle traffic every day from noon to 30 minutes after sunset.
Greenbelt
For the best experience, visit the Greenbelt during the week, or go to the areas where there are fewer people.
Please note that Greenbelt parking lots have been at capacity this season.
