Driving through Gatineau Park

Did you drive up to a closed gate? Private vehicles are limited on certain Gatineau Park roadways, such as the one you are on.

If you are here, you probably would like to visit Pink Lake, King Mountain, Champlain Lookout or Mackenzie King Estate. Fortunately, there are other ways of getting there.

Alternative options

	Free shuttle Park at the Visitor Centre or at Camp Fortune, then take the Gatineau Park shuttle to get to your destination
	E-bike Park at the Visitor Centre and rent an electric power-assisted bicycle to get to your destination.

Pink Lake: Parking lot P6 ($), off Kingsmere Road, for a 9.2-km hike (round trip that includes going around the lake) King Mountain: Parking lot P7 for a 5.7-km hike (round trip including the loop) Champlain Lookout: Parking lot P12 ($) for a 7.8-km hike (round trip).

Private vehicles

You can drive your vehicle on the following schedule until September 22:

• Wednesday: 8 am to dusk
• Saturday and Sunday: noon to dusk

By limiting private vehicle access, we protect nature and are able to offer a varied recreational experience. From May to October, a free shuttle bus goes to popular attractions.

All of these measures encourage the use of alternative modes of transportation in order to gradually reduce the impact of private vehicle traffic on Gatineau Park.

You can use your private vehicle on other municipal roads to get to key hubs. These roads are usually accessible at all times, going to 21 parking lots that lead to pathways, lakes and lookouts.
