Traffic Advisory

Canada’s Capital Region – The NCC is pleased to advise that the rehabilitation of the Hog’s Back Swing Bridge is reaching completion.

The NCC would like to advise the public that it will reopen the Hog’s Back Swing Bridge as of Monday, October 5, 2020, at 3 pm.

Following the reopening of the bridge, work crews will need to test the endurance of the bridge throughout the month of October. During this period, it is possible that motor vehicle traffic will experience temporary closures of approximately 10 to 20 minutes, between 9 am and 6 pm. Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use the detour in place over the Rideau Canal locks during these temporary closures.

The NCC urges all users to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage and flag persons at the site.
