Description
Title: Mackenzie King Estate Volunteer
Location: Mackenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park
Under the supervision of the National Capital Commission (NCC) team, volunteers will support interpretation and animation activities throughout the summer.
Create a fun and educational space where children can enjoy simple crafts, with projects they can take home as a souvenir, inspired by nature and the history of the site. This activity will be available from Thursday to Monday, from Victoria Day weekend (May) until Labour Day (September).
Tasks include:
- Assembling craft kits (materials and simple illustrated instructions) and setting up tables and creative spaces.
- Welcoming children, explaining the theme and supervising the safe use of materials (glue and scissors).
- Encouraging creativity and sharing anecdotes related to the site or nature.
- Keeping track of daily participation numbers.
Additional opportunity:
- Help with the Canada Day (July 1) event by supporting logistics, preparing activities proposed by the NCC and leading family-area crafts and workshops.
The activities take place outdoors and also indoors in a designated cottage. The NCC will provide the necessary equipment (vest) for leading activities.
