Open water swimming at NCC lakes

Open water swimming is an increasingly popular activity.
Swimming area: Swimming areas are marked by buoys, and may be used for open water swimming at all times
Make sure that you are comfortable swimming in deep, cold water.
For your safety, you must wear a fluorescent swim cap or use a swim buoy.

School groups, day camps and other groups at NCC beaches

Water quality The NCC has bacteriological water quality testing done every two weeks during swimming
Before setting out, check the swimming water quality.
Do not swim unless lifeguards are on duty.
Remain within the swimming area marked by buoys, at all times.

Leamy Lake Park

Washrooms: From May to Mid-October (weather permitting), 7 am to 10 pm Swimming
There is a parking fee during the swimming season.
Surrounded by Leamy Lake, and the Gatineau and Ottawa rivers, the park has a supervised beach for swimming
The NCC is allowing open water swimming at Leamy Lake as part of a pilot project.
