Hélène Chalifour Scherrer is an accomplished executive, leader and mentor. As a seasoned consultant with vast independent and corporate experience, she has a solid understanding of the public sector’s innermost workings. Ms. Chalifour Scherrer is currently senior associate with the Sandstone Group and has owned Gestion Chalifour since 2007. In 2019 she was appointed honorary consul of Belgium in the Quebec Region, and contributed to Radio-Canada and RDI as an analyst. Elected as a federal MP in 2000, Ms. Chalifour Scherrer served as Minister of Canadian Heritage in 2003-04 and Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister in 2004-05. She entered politics in 1990 as municipal councillor for Sillery, Quebec. Over the past ten years, Ms. Chalifour Scherrer has specialized in philanthropic management. She has guided numerous public and private organizations in developing and implementing funding and governance review strategies. She also serves on many boards of directors, including the boards of the Canadian Association of Former Parliamentarians and various other organizations and foundations. Ms. Chalifour Scherrer has a bachelor’s degree in social work from the Université Laval.
