People on watercrafts at Bate Island

Bate Island Park is on the Ottawa River, west of downtown. For years, people have enjoyed its beautiful sunsets and sunrises, and come here as a way to escape the city. It offers picturesque views of the river and provides an access point to the water.

Bate Island Park features picnic areas and river access points for the public; it can be reached using the Champlain Bridge. Its shoreline is home to many local aquatic species and is an important migratory stop-over for waterfowl and waterbirds.

New in 2024

In 2024, we are increasing the offering at Bate Island Park to create a vibrant atmosphere. Plans include:

  • adding tubing rentals
  • adding a new concession stand

Ottawa Turbo Tubing

This summer, Ottawa Turbo Tubing is offering lazy river activities on the Ottawa River. Participants will be guided all the way by qualified, open-water experts until they reach the drop-off area, after which they will be shuttled back to Bate Island.
