Please take note of the following before your visit.
Bate Island Park is on the Ottawa River, west of downtown. For years, people have enjoyed its beautiful sunsets and sunrises, and come here as a way to escape the city. It offers picturesque views of the river and provides an access point to the water.
Bate Island Park features picnic areas and river access points for the public; it can be reached using the Champlain Bridge. Its shoreline is home to many local aquatic species and is an important migratory stop-over for waterfowl and waterbirds.
Food and beverage services
Bate Island is featuring a new concession stand in summer 2024, operated by Tavern on the Island! The upgraded patio offers plenty of seating to experience the Ottawa River’s panoramic views.

Nautical activities
In summer 2024, Ottawa Turbo Tubing is offering a new lazy river activity, right off Bate Island. Participants will be guided all the way by qualified, open water experts, until reaching the drop-off area, after which they will be shuttled back to Bate Island.
