The parkways are major access routes that cross through Gatineau Park. They are used by private vehicles and the Gatineau Park shuttle, as well as for various recreational activities.
The section of the Gatineau Parkway between Alexandre-Taché Boulevard and the south entrance to the park (P3) is in very poor condition and requires extensive work.
The NCC will therefore begin rehabilitating this section in May 2025. The work is slated for completion by Spring 2026.
Closure of the parkway sections will take place in stages.
- Stage 1 – From Boulevard des Allumettières west to the P3 parking lot (summer 2025): Completed
- Stage 2 – From Boulevard des Allumettières east to Alexandre-Taché Boulevard (fall 2025): Completed
- Stage 3 – Overpass over Boulevard des Allumettières (fall 2025): the parkways is open from P3 to des Allumettières west and from Alexandre-Taché Boulevard to des Allumettières east: Ongoing
