Colonel By Drive wall and the base of the Bank Street Bridge

The NCC is repairing the Colonel By Drive wall. Built in the 1950s, the wall has been damaged over time by repeated freeze-thaw cycles, heavy snow loads, and road salt.

These repairs are being performed for safety reasons and to ensure long-term structural integrity.

Materials will be visually compatible with the existing aesthetic and will respect the heritage context.

Rehabilitation work is scheduled to begin in fall 2025 and should be completed by fall 2026.

Project impacts

Impact on motorists: There will be traffic disruptions on Colonel By Drive. These may range from periodic single-lane closures to full closures in certain areas.

Impact on pedestrians and cyclists: Access will be maintained throughout most of the project. Users should anticipate and follow signage for areas with temporary multi-use pathway closures.
