Through his role with the NCC, he oversees the federal approval process for key federal projects around the Capital and specifically in the Capital Core Area — for example, the Lester B. Pearson Building rehabilitation, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière site plan and building rehabilitation, and the rehabilitation of the National Printing Bureau in Gatineau, to name a few. Before joining the NCC, Mazen worked on large infrastructural and institutional projects in Toronto and Montreal. His post-graduate research with Université Paris Est Marne-La Vallée focused on examining the impact of large-scale investment projects on the sustainability of cities.
