National Capital Region — The National Capital Commission (NCC) is pleased to announce that community builder and heritage developer Leanne Moussa and chef Michael Moffatt will bring a new set of culinary and event services to the Mackenzie King Estate in Gatineau Park, beginning in spring 2027.
“There is a romance to the Mackenzie King Estate that I would like to help tease out for visitors,” said Leanne Moussa, President of All Saints Developments Inc. “The combination of nature and architecture makes it an idyllic destination for a wedding, or simply the right spot for a beautiful walk with someone you love.”
Beginning in spring 2027, new offerings at the Mackenzie King Estate will include:
- café à la folie, where visitors can grab coffee, a snack or picnic at the end of a hike or bike ride;
- amour à la folie, where couples can enjoy special wedding ceremonies, engagement photo shoots and other special events;
- le salon de thé, a tearoom service on Saturdays and Sundays; and
- à table à Moorside, a weekly fixed menu on Thursday evenings, designed to be a first-class culinary experience tucked away in the woods.
”Pairing hospitality offerings with the gardens and pathways of Gatineau Park is a unique opportunity,” said Moffatt, a chef with nearly three decades of experience, including in acclaimed kitchens in New York, Banff, and some of the best food and beverage brands in Ottawa. “Mackenzie King Estate holds a special place for me, having spent many wonderful mornings there with my son and our dog over the last twenty years. I can’t wait to take this project on.”
“Together with the NCC, we are hoping to take one of the most beautiful outdoor experiences in the National Capital Region and offer guests a rich, culinary surprise,” said Moussa.

About the Mackenzie King Estate
Nestled in the heart of Gatineau Park, the Mackenzie King Estate is a special place to spend a day in nature. Managed by the National Capital Commission, it is the legacy of former Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King, who owned the property for close to 50 years before bequeathing it to all Canadians. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities around the estate, including hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and exploring the picturesque gardens, ruins, grounds and museums.
