A hard-packed dirt trail leading to a slight slope and bridge through a dense forest.

Sugarbush Trail is located in Old Chelsea, close to the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre. This loop takes you on a pleasant walk through the forest.

From spring until fall, Sugarbush Trail is one Gatineau Park’s most accessible trails. It starts at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre and follows a paved path with a slight slope to a bridge, then continues as a wide and hard-packed stone-dust path with some elevation gain and loss.

Potential accessibility barriers

  • Steep slope: While it is one of the flatter trails in the Park, Sugarbush Trail still features some slopes, due to the natural topography of the area. The elevation profile provides more details on where these hills are located, as well as their average slope and total length.

The enhanced mapping of this trail for inclusive use is a collaborative effort between the Canadian Disabled Outdoor Society (CanDO) and the NCC’s Advisory Committee on Universal Accessibility.
