Guided tour: Building the Capital
Join experts as they explore the past, present, and future of projects that continue to shape Canada’s capital.
- Meeting point: At the end of Pìdàban footbridge, next to Tavern on the Hill located at Major’s Hill Park.

Accessibility
Tours are wheelchair accessible and take place primarily on paved surfaces with gentle inclines. Please note that the Building the Capital tour may include sections with cobblestone paving.
Getting There
Kìwekì Point is located in downtown Ottawa, a short distance away from the ByWard Market and behind the National Gallery of Canada.
- Cycling and pedestrian access: Available year-round at Kìwekì Point (50 spaces) and Major’s Hill Park (30 spaces).
- Public transit: Major transit providers in the National Capital Region offer routes that stop near the site. Use their travel planners to find the best bus route (OC Transpo or STO).
- Vehicle access: Paid parking is available on Pioneer Road, at the National Gallery of Canada, and on nearby streets. Accessible parking is available at the National Gallery of Canada.
