Privacy Policy summary
The NCC will only collect personal information when authorized by Parliament and will only collect what we need, not more.
Unless you give prior consent, we will only use or disclose your personal information for:
- the purpose it was collected
- a related purpose
- as authorized under the Privacy Act
We hold all personal information for at least two years after its last use unless you have consented to its earlier disposal. We describe all personal information we hold in Info Source, under Personal Information Banks, updated annually.
Data matching
Any data matching involving personal information will be managed in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat Policy on Privacy Protection.
Privacy in contracts and agreements
Our contracts and agreements with private, public or government entities or organizations include privacy protection clauses.
Accessing your personal information
You have the right to access the personal information the NCC holds about you. We take reasonable steps to make sure the personal information we hold is accurate and up to date. You have the right to request its correction if you believe that there is an error or omission.

We conduct privacy assessments before starting any new program or activity involving personal information. This helps make sure privacy concerns are identified and addressed.
