Your personal information is being collected under sections 10(1) and 10(2) of the National Capital Act, which authorizes the National Capital Commission (NCC) to collect your personal information. Should you not agree to the collection of your personal information, as listed below, we are unable to proceed with the request to become a volunteer.
Here is how the NCC manages personal information.
- Why we collect it: To enable the NCC to process your application and to maintain a record of your participation in events and your preferences for volunteer activities.
- Other uses: The NCC may use the information for statistical purposes, program monitoring and management, evaluation and reporting purposes, and outreach.
- Who do we share it with:
- NCC staff, to fulfill various volunteer program requirements;
- Better Impact to resolve technical issues or in accordance with its privacy policy;
- In accordance with section 8(2) of the Privacy Act.

You have the right to request access to your personal information held by the NCC and also to request corrections to it if you believe that the information is erroneous or incomplete.
You are entitled to file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner if you are dissatisfied with the handling of your personal information.
