This location features a bike tour along the Ottawa River to Major’s Hill Park, a free bike tune-up station offered by Tunes on Wheels, and a guided tour of the newly reopened Westboro Beach and facilities. You’ll also find booths highlighting community initiatives and volunteering opportunities.

Join a tour led by the NCC team to explore the newly reopened Westboro Beach and its facilities.

Participation is first-come, first-served. Please arrive 10 minutes before the tour begins.

NCC Riverfront Discovery Bike Tour

Discover the Ottawa River shoreline on our bilingual, guided bike tour, beginning at Westboro Beach and ending at the Open NCC hub site in Major’s Hill Park. This 10-km paved cycling path offers breathtaking views and informative stops to learn more about various NCC projects, including those at Lebreton Flats.

Participants must have their own bicycles. Helmets are required. Please consider the distance and duration of the tour to determine if the tour is suitable for you.

Space is limited. Registration is mandatory, and participants are strongly encouraged to arrive onsite 15 minutes before the tour begins.

Getting there

Located along the westbound Kichi Zībī Mīkan, the site is accessible by car, active mobility and public transportation.

  • Cycling and pedestrian access: Westboro Beach is accessible via the Capital Pathway along the Kichi Zībī Mīkan. Bike racks are available near the pavilions and throughout the park.
  • Public transit: Major transit providers in the National Capital Region offer routes that stop near the site. Use their travel planners to find the best bus route (OC Transpo or STO).
  • Car access: Paid parking is available at Westboro Beach, across from the beach (66 spaces, with one universally accessible space). Additionally, a drop-off area near the pavilion features three universally accessible spaces.

About the site

Washrooms are available onsite at Westboro Beach and along the bike tour at the Canadian War Museum.

Westboro Beach includes many universally accessible features, including:

  • accessible pathways to and around site amenities
  • accessible washrooms in both pavilions
  • accessible parking spaces in the drop-off area and in the lot across the road, all within 110 m of the pavilions

Food and beverage services

Westboro Beach Club

The Westboro Beach Club, located in one of the Strutt towers along the beach, is open from 10 am to 9 pm daily.
