Giveaway Dates and Eligibility

The National Capital Commission (hereinafter referred to as “the NCC”) is organizing a giveaway contest, which people enter by filling out a contest ballot at an NCC tent during the Share the Path safety blitz.

The giveaway contest is to be held in Canada, starting on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 10 am (EDT), and ending on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 6 pm (EDT). This contest is open to residents of Canada.

Employees, representatives or agents of the NCC, or of any of the NCC’s prize-donating partners, as well as the people who reside with these aforementioned persons, are not eligible to participate in the giveaway.

No purchase is necessary to enter the giveaway.

Participation Requirements

Participants must fill out a contest ballot in person, and must provide a valid phone number or email address that will be used to contact them if they win.

  • One winner will receive two passes to Nordik Spa-Nature. The total retail value of the prize is $176.
  • One winner will receive two winter season passes to Gatineau Park. The total retail value of the prize is up to $358.72.
  • One winner will receive one gift certificate for any NCC Bistro. The total retail value of the prize is $50.

Selection of the Prize Winner

The winning ballots will be drawn at random, from among all ballots that meet participation requirements. The NCC will draw the winners in Ottawa on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, and will notify them on the same day via phone or email.

The NCC will draw prizes in the following order:

  • two passes to Nordik Spa-Nature
  • two winter season passes to Gatineau Park
  • one gift certificate for any NCC Bistro

The winner of the Nordik Spa-Nature prize must be 16 years of age or older at the time they enter the contest. If a ballot from a person under the age of 16 is drawn for this prize, the NCC will award them one of the other two prizes, if these have not yet been awarded.

Awarding of the Prize

In order for the winner to be awarded the prize package, they must fulfill the following requirements.

  • The participant must respond to the NCC before Friday, August 19, 2022, at 5 pm (EDT).
  • The participant will be asked by an NCC staff member to confirm eligibility and to provide relevant information (i.e. mailing address) in order for the prize package to be sent.
  • To be declared a winner, the participant must first correctly answer a skill-testing question.

Failure to comply with any of these above-mentioned conditions or any other condition contained in this document will result in the disqualification of the participant. A new winner will then be selected in accordance with the present set of rules.
