Privacy notice

Your personal information is being collected under section 10(2) of the National Capital Act, which authorizes the National Capital Commission (NCC) to collect your personal information. Should you not agree to the collection of your personal information, as listed below, you can drop in at the Visitor Centre and inquire about the availability of an activity in Gatineau Park. For some activities, places open up at the last minute due to cancellations.

Here is how the NCC manages personal information.   

  • Why we collect it: To process your registration for NCC interpretation and discovery activities, including school and public tours.
  • Other uses: The NCC may use the information for statistical purposes to plan, monitor or evaluate programs.
  • Who we share it with (in accordance with section 8(2) of the Privacy Act):
    • NCC staff, to fulfill bookings for the activity;
    • Easy Appointment Booking to manage the registrations to the activity; 
    • Easy Appointment Booking to resolve technical issues or in accordance with its privacy policy;
    • Friends of Gatineau Park to deliver the activity.

A personal information bank is in development and a link to it will be added once it has been registered with the Treasury Board Secretariat.   

You have the right to request access to your personal information held by the NCC and also to request corrections to it if you believe that the information is erroneous or incomplete.  

You are entitled to file a complaint with the Privacy Commissioner should you be dissatisfied with the handling of your personal information.
