The National Capital Commission (NCC) is pleased to announce the reopening of Parent Beach at Philippe Lake in Gatineau Park, earlier today at 10 am, Thursday, June 27, 2019. In accordance with directives from the Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les Changements Climatiques (MELCC) of Quebec, the beach was closed on June 19, 2019, as a preventive measure, when a bloom of cyanobacteria (blue algae) was observed near the edge of the beach. Follow-ups at the site have confirmed that the water is now safe for swimming, in accordance with MELCC standards.

All beaches at Meech, la Pêche and Philippe Lakes, are open to swimmers.
