National Capital Region — With Fall Rhapsody winding down, it’s time to get ready for your favourite winter activities in Gatineau Park. The 2022-2023 cross-country ski, snowshoe and snow bike season pass presale begins Tuesday, October 25. Winter camping reservations open on November 1.

  • a 50% discount on day passes at partner ski centres
  • two complimentary Gatineau Park day passes for guests
  • a weekly e-newsletter with updates on trail grooming operations and
  • trail recommendations to help make the most of each visit to the Park

Passes will be available for purchase on the NCC website.

Save the date: Winter camping and accommodations

Experience the joys of winter in a tent or ready-to-camp unit in the heart of Gatineau Park. Reservations for the 2022–2023 season will open at 9 a.m. on November 1 for all campsites, with the season running from November 15, 2022 to April 1, 2023. Rehabilitation work currently in progress at the Philippe Lake campground will not affect winter camping apart from removal of the Woodsia Yurt.

Winter accommodations fill up quickly: we recommend creating an account ahead of time and considering alternatives in case a preferred date or site is unavailable.

Reminder: Preparing Gatineau Park parkways for winter

The Gatineau Park parkways will close to vehicle traffic for the season starting Sunday, October 23 at 7 p.m. From that point on, the parkways are reserved for active uses until the end of the winter season. Users should exercise caution as maintenance and emergency vehicles sometimes use the parkways as well.

To help protect the sensitive environment and vegetation, salt and sand are not used on Gatineau Park parkways. Keep in mind that lower temperatures increase the risk of frozen and icy roads and could cause safety hazards.
