News Release
Published on January 7, 2020
In the context of the new measures established by the Government of Quebec, the NCC confirms that Gatineau Park will remain open, and will make temporary adjustments to its offering of winter activities.
The following changes will be in place from January 9 to February 8, 2021.
Hours
In order to comply with the curfew announced by the Quebec government, all Gatineau Park parking lots will be closed at 7 pm. They will reopen at 5 am.
Visitor Centre
The Visitor Centre will be closed temporarily. Information services will be available by telephone at the following numbers:
- 819-827-2020 or 1-866-456-3016 (toll-free)
- 613-239-5353 (24-hour emergency line)
Day shelters
Gatineau Park day shelters are open on a first-come, first-served basis (for one household at a time), and are accessible at all times for emergencies. The reservation system for the shelters will be available at a later date.
Camping and accommodations
Users who have reserved accommodations in the Park will be able to access them.
Safe practice of activities in the Park
At all times, we ask that Park users comply with Quebec government directives while engaged in outdoor sports and recreational activities. This means restricting contact to those within the same family bubble, and not engaging in group activities (skiing, walking, snowshoeing).
