Clues to past weather and human history hide in plain sight: in the shape of the land, in the soil and in the forest growth. Our special guest guide is soil scientist Dr. Elena Ponomarenko, an ecological archaeologist and faculty member at the University of Ottawa.

We'll explore not too far but very closely along the nearby wooded trails for about three hours. Our route is fairly even but not flat nor paved the whole way. Once across the open fields into the woods, the pace will be easy.

Activity will be led in English, but participation and questions in French are most welcome.
