The bicycle path along the approach to the Alexandra Bridge, from the section of the Ottawa River Pathway below Major’s Hill Park to the bridge, will be closed as of Wednesday, February 3, 2021, until further notice. This closure is necessary to allow for the transportation of equipment to undertake the work on the Alexandra Bridge and Nepean Point.
The sidewalk will remain open for the duration of the work, and cyclists will be asked to walk their bikes along this stretch. Please note that the Alexandra Bridge will remain closed to motor vehicles.
Repair work on the Alexandra Bridge is managed by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). For more information, see the Alexandra Bridge Replacement project web page.
The rehabilitation work on Nepean Point is managed by the National Capital Commission (NCC). For more information, see the Nepean Point Redevelopment project web page.
The NCC urges cyclists and pedestrians to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage and flag persons on-site.
