A section of the Rideau River Eastern Pathway at Vincent Massey Park, between the Bronson Avenue / Riverside Drive crossing and Vincent Massey Park parking lot, will be partially closed, weather permitting, from Monday, November 2, until the end of December, for the reconstruction of existing armour stone retaining walls. Landscaping will be undertaken in spring 2021.
Single-day closures of the pathway may be required to allow the safe use of larger equipment.
This project is part of the Budget 2020 infrastructure investment to address shoreline rehabilitation due to flooding, and for long-term resiliency planning.
Users must obey directions provided by flag persons, and follow the designated detour.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) urges users to exercise caution, respect work crews and equipment, and obey flag persons and signage at the site.
