The left-hand lanes of the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, in both the eastbound and westbound traffic lanes, will be closed between Island Park Dr. and Kitchissippi Lookout, from Monday, April 12, till the end of May. These lane closures will be in effect during off-peak hours, Monday to Friday, between 9:30 am and 3:00 pm. A reduced speed limit of 50km/h will be in place through the work zone.
The closure will allow crews to start the work as part of the Stage 2 O-Train West Extension Project. At Kitchissippi Lookout, the following work will be taking place until June: utilities relocation at Atlantis Avenue, drainage work, widening of the SJAM Parkway Westbound lane and intersection roadwork at the median turning lanes.
Pedestrian and cyclist access through this area via the Ottawa River Pathway will be maintained.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) and the City of Ottawa urge all users to exercise caution, respect work crews and equipment, and obey flag persons or signage at the site.
