Closures on the Queen Elizabeth Driveway and Colonel By Drive, April 25

Sections of traffic lanes on the Queen Elizabeth Driveway and Colonel By Drive will be closed temporarily on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, to remove concession equipment from the Rideau Canal Skateway.

7am to 10 am: Queen Elizabeth Driveway at Fifth Avenue

• Flag persons will be on-site to slow down and to ensure the flow of traffic in the north and southbound lane, as needed. 

10 am to noon: Colonel By Drive south of the Bronson Avenue Bridge

• A 100-metre section of the southbound lane south of the Bronson Bridge on-ramp will be closed to traffic.  
• Flag persons will control motorists on the northbound lane of Colonel By Drive.  

Noon to 2 pm: Colonel By Drive north of Main Street 

• A 100-metre section of the southbound lane just north of Main Street will be closed to traffic.  
• Flag persons will control motorists on the northbound lane of Colonel By Drive.  

Some sections of the Rideau Canal pathways may be closed for a short period during the work. Users must comply with the flag persons’ directions, and proceed along designated detours.

The NCC urges the public to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage and flag persons at the site.
