Traffic advisory
March 17, 2023
The Champlain bridge will be closed for 5 nights, starting on March 20, between 8pm and 5am, in preparation for rehabilitation work. The bridge sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.
As of March 21st, at 6 am, the central lane of the bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic for rehabilitation work on the bridge until November 2023.
To minimize impact and disruption to active users and vehicular traffic, the work is being completed in phases and two lanes of traffic will be maintained throughout the work.
Cyclists and pedestrians will continue to have access to the bridge.
Motorists can expect delays as the open lanes will be narrower, and the maximum speed limit will be reduced to 40 km/h. Road signage will be in place.
The NCC urges users to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage and flag persons on-site.
