Robert Plamondon

Robert Plamondon is a consultant with expertise in organizational transformation, governance, public finance and policy, strategic planning, and performance management. His recent work includes preparing a conceptual plan for the proposed School of Government for the University of Ottawa. Robert also helped to lead a multi-year transformation of the university’s Facilities Service, which operates and maintains all campus assets. From 2004 to 2010, he played a strategic consulting role in financial and operational management for the City of Ottawa, a $3-billion corporation. He has performed external governance evaluations for several Crown corporations and government agencies, including Finance Canada, the Bank of Canada, Export Development Canada and VIA Rail. He has been a full- and part-time professor at three Canadian universities over a 20-year period, teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. In 2002, Robert helped pilot “Hay West,” a nationwide relief effort to assist drought-stricken Western farmers. He wrote a book about the initiative, the first of his four bestselling books. Robert is active in his community, and has served numerous community organizations and boards. In 2012, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contributions to Canada. He holds a Master of Management Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University. He obtained the designation of Chartered Accountant in 1983, and was named a fellow in 2003.
