Michael Poliwoda is a fundraising professional with more than 20 years’ experience. He is the principal of MPConsulting, specializing in capacity building for the not-for-profit sector. He is also a senior associate of Global Philanthropic, an international fundraising consulting firm, and is the current executive director of the Rideau Valley Conservation Foundation. Previously, Mr. Poliwoda was the vice-president of philanthropy at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, completing a $75-million expansion project—the most successful fundraising initiative in the institute’s 40-year history. He completed his mini MBA at Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University; studied English Literature at the University of Toronto and Fundraising/Volunteer Management at George Brown College in Toronto. Mr. Poliwoda also has a certificate in Capital Campaigns from the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, Madison Institute, Wisconsin School of Business.
