Canada’s Capital Region – Tomorrow, on Friday, October 19, 2018, during off-peak hours, between 9 am and 3 pm, the National Capital Commission will proceed with asphalt work on four of the Portage Bridge’s six lanes. One lane will remain open at all times in each direction during the work.
To carry out this work, two of the three northbound lanes of the bridge toward Gatineau will be closed to motorists in the morning. Then, in the afternoon, the work crews will reopen the northbound bridge lanes and will move and close two of the three southbound lanes toward Ottawa to complete the work.
The closures will not affect pedestrians and cyclists who will be able to use the sidewalks and the bidirectional cycling track at all times during the work.
The NCC urges motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage and flag persons on-site.
