Canada’s Capital Region – Starting at the Portage Bridge and the Wellington Street intersection, small sections of the Portage Bridge northbound lane for high-occupancy vehicles (HOV) as well as the Bridge’s southbound left lane will be partially closed starting Friday, May 11, 2018, off-peak hours, from 9 am to 3 pm, to remove and refurbish streetlights.
The closures, which will occur occasionally Monday to Friday until early June, will be on a 50-metre section at a time. When crews are working along the northbound HOV lane, the bidirectional cycle track will also be closed in the same section. All other lanes of the Portage Bridge in both directions will remain open at all times during the work.
The National Capital Commission urges motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage and flag persons on-site.
