Parks Canada is conducting investigative work on the Rideau Canal walls in downtown Ottawa. The work requires temporary pedestrian detours along the Rideau Canal Eastern Pathway near the Mackenzie King Bridge.
The first phase of this work requires a 350-metre closure on the Rideau Canal Eastern Pathway in the area beginning just south of the Government Conference Centre and extending just south of the Laurier Avenue Bridge.
The second phase of the work will require a 400-metre closure beginning just south of the Laurier Avenue Bridge and extending just south of the Corktown Bridge.
When: Tuesday, February 6 until early March 2018, weather dependent.
DETOURS: Directional signage is installed on-site to advise pathway users of the closures and the detours kept clear of snow and ice during the work. The National Capital Commission recommends that users use the detours in place or use the Rideau Canal Western Pathway along the Queen Elizabeth Driveway.
