Eight Greenbelt farms to check out this summer

Looking to escape the city and spend some time on a local farm? Greenbelt farms offer a wide range of tastes and experiences, from picking your own fresh fruit to goat yoga sessions. You can also find a delicious assortment of vegetables, honey and locally raised meats. Our in-house farmer, Robin Turner, recommends checking out these eight Greenbelt farms this summer:

Orleans Fruit Farm

Welcome to the Orleans Fruit Farm, where you can pick your own raspberries and browse the farm stand for garlic scapes, strawberries, lettuce, jam, maple syrup, honey and more!

Shop this farm stand for a good cause! Youth Now Farm brings together key agricultural activities with youth engagement, youth skills development, mentorship and employment opportunities.

Check out the farm stand at various farmers’ markets in Ottawa. What’s in season? Lebanese cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchinis, eggplants, melons, specialty herbs including basil, parsley, cilantro and more.
