Are you interested in setting up your own business this summer? Do you want to gain a bit of entrepreneurial experience? We may have just the thing for you!
We are happy to kick off a pilot program that will allow children and youth, ages 5 to 17 years old, to operate a kiosk on select NCC parkways during our popular Nokia Sunday Bikedays.
The program includes a training workshop, offered by our partners at JA Ottawa (a program offered by the Ottawa Network for Education), followed by an opportunity to set up your stand for three Sundays during the summer. And it’s free.
So, How Does It Work?
First, you need to register with us, with your parent’s or guardian’s permission.
Next, we recommend you participate in a short workshop for young entrepreneurs, delivered by JA Ottawa, at NCC headquarters. Once you’ve completed your training, we will issue you a young entrepreneurs permit, which entitles you to operate a kiosk for three Sundays on one of the NCC’s parkways.
Then, open your business to all the cyclists during Sunday Bikedays.
