Are you interested in setting up your own business this summer? Do you want to gain a bit of entrepreneurial experience? We may have just the thing for you!
For a second year in a row, the NCC is offering children and youth between the ages of 5 and 17 who’d like to get some business experience a chance to take part in the Young Entrepreneurs Program. After taking part in the program’s free workshop, participants have an opportunity to run a kiosk on one of the car-free parkways during the popular NOKIA Sunday Bikedays.
What does the program offer?
- A workshop covering how to start a small business, how to make your kiosk attractive and business basics. Presented by our partner Junior Achievement Ottawa, this workshop is part of a program offered by the Ottawa Network for Education.
- The opportunity to gain business experience by running a kiosk for three Sundays during the summer.
How does the program work?
First, sign up with the NCC, with the permission of a parent or guardian, by filling out the online form.
Then, take part in a short workshop providing an introduction to business, which is presented by JA Ottawa. After your training session, the NCC will issue a young entrepreneurs permit allowing you to run a kiosk for three Sundays on one of the NCC’s parkways.
During that time, you have an opportunity to offer your product or service to Sunday Bikedays participants.
