See and learn about the Greenbelt’s diverse natural ecosystems on a self-guided tour at Stony Swamp, Pine Grove or Mer Bleue Bog.

At Stony Swamp, the Lime Kiln and Jack Pine trails feature interpretation panels. Along the way, you can see a heritage kiln, beaver ponds and beaver dams.

The Old Quarry Trail is a 3.1-kilometre trail where you can learn about the area’s unusual geology.
Learn about forestry and types of trees in the Greenbelt. Take a walk along the interpretive forestry trail, and visit the tree-identification arboretum on trail 43.
At Mer Bleue Bog, take the 1.5-kilometre interpretive boardwalk trail to learn about this internationally important bog. Learn more in the brochure entitled Mer Bleue Bog: A Special Place in the National Capital Greenbelt
