Project description
Rideau Hall has been the official residence and workplace of every governor general of Canada since 1867. A classified federal heritage building, it is the largest official residence in Canada’s Capital Region.

The main front entrance of Rideau Hall was revitalized starting in 2016. The main scope of work was a new granite entry surface, complete rebuild of the Fountain of Hope and new facade lighting. The design approach for the lighting was to highlight the architectural features of the front entrance, including the important flags on the roof and the flagpoles at ground level. The lighting was designed with a soft touch using residential lighting principles. The project was completed in June 2017.
