Introduction to Snowshoeing

Learn the basics of snowshoeing at this workshop — offered by the Friends of Gatineau Park on trails 60 and 61. You’ll also learn more about planning an outing, the equipment you need, the Park’s different snowshoe trails, reading the landscape and getting your bearings, and safety and outdoor ethics.

Introduction to Snowshoeing

For whom?

This activity is for people aged 13 and older. Although the trails are considered “easy,” please note that they do include some hilly terrain.

Where?

Meet at the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre, 33 Scott Road, Chelsea.

What to bring?

You can bring your own snowshoes or borrow a pair for free from the Friends of Gatineau Park (please let us know when you make your reservation).

Bring water and a snack, and make sure that you dress according to the weather.

Member: Adult $16; Student (13 and over) $13; Senior (65 and over) $13

Non-member: Adult $20; Student (13 and over) $16; Senior (65 and over) $16

*Rates do not include trail access. Those who do not have a season pass can purchase a daily snowshoe pass at the Visitor Centre before the workshop begins.
