Birdwatching

If you would like to learn more about the birdlife in Gatineau Park, sign up now to take part in this workshop offered by the Friends of Gatineau Park.

Accompanied by Robert Alvo, expert ornithologist and author of Being a Bird in North America, you will discover the fascinating world of birdwatching. Your guide will also provide tips on the following:

  • what equipment you need
  • planning your outings
  • birdwatching spots in Gatineau park and elsewhere in the region
  • resources available for amateur birders
  • birdwatching practices that don’t harm nature.

The workshop begins with an indoor presentation, followed by an outdoor component that includes a hike and practical exercises.

This Friends of Gatineau Park activity is for persons aged 13 and older. 

Reservations are required. 

Bring binoculars and a field guide, if you have them. A few pairs of binoculars will also be available at the workshop.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing.
