As part of its emerald ash borer management strategy, the NCC will be planting trees and shrubs in several areas within the Rapides-Deschênes Park in Quebec. A total of 740 trees and shrubs, of 25 different species, will be planted. Prior to planting, the NCC will undertake maintenance work to remove a number of invasive species to better ensure the survival of these trees.
Work will begin on August 29 at 7 am, and will continue until the end of October, between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm, with minimal noise impact on nearby residents. Temporary pathway closures will occur in some sections throughout the work.
The National Capital Commission urges pathway users to exercise caution, respect working crews and equipment, and obey signage and flag persons on-site.
This work is part of the NCC invasive species management strategy and emerald ash borer management program.
