The Voyageurs Pathway, from the Portage Bridge to the Canadian Museum of History, will be temporarily closed from April 8 to May 4, 2019, to make improvements to the pedestrian bridge including the bridge deck and guardrails to ensure safety for all.
The rehabilitation of the Voyageurs Pathway was completed on December 5, 2018, as part of the NCC’s major infrastructure projects following the Government of Canada’s $55-million investment in the 2018 federal budget.
The Voyageurs Pathway, which suffered severe damage devastating flood in spring 2017, is now rebuilt to higher standards, increasing resiliency in preparation for future extreme weather events.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) urges pathway users to seek alternate routes. Signage will be installed at pathway access points to inform users of the closure.
