A segment of the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway between Dominion Avenue and Cleary Avenue will be shifted north to accommodate the future Stage 2 LRT Confederation Line West extension.
As early as the week of July 2, crews will begin constructing new westbound traffic lanes on the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway.
Once the new westbound lanes are complete, traffic will be rerouted, and work will begin on the new eastbound lanes.
Work is scheduled to be undertaken during off-peak daytime hours (9:30 am to 3 pm) and may result in moderate delays due to single lane closures. Limited activity will also be scheduled during nighttime hours (6:30 pm to 6:30 am), when required, to avoid impacts on traffic.
Flag persons will direct motorists in the open lane of the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway during the work.
Pedestrian and cyclist access through this area via the Ottawa River Pathway will be maintained throughout the construction of the new traffic lanes.
The National Capital Commission (NCC) and the City of Ottawa urge motorists to exercise caution, respect work crews and equipment, and obey flag persons and signage at the site.
