The NCC is pleased to begin the second phase of work as part of a major investment at Richmond Landing. This work will involve removing the existing pathways and gardens. In their place, a universally accessible pathway with terraced garden views across Richmond Landing and the Ottawa River will be created. Thousands of plants and shrubs are being planted as part of this project, which aligns with the NCC’s Sustainable Development Strategy.
The stairs leading to the intersection of the Portage Bridge and Wellington Street will be closed for the duration of the work. Users of the Ottawa River Pathway will be detoured on the access ramp over the tunnel under Wellington Street or into the tunnel itself.
Work will be undertaken Monday to Friday, between 7 am and 5 pm, and is expected to be completed by fall 2019.
