Temporary pathway closures in the Shirley’s Bay area - December 3 to 14

There will be temporary pathway closures in the western Greenbelt between Riverdown Drive and Carling Avenue in the Shirleys Bay sector, from December 3 to 14, 2018, between 7 am and 5 pm, to allow the removal of 985 ash trees affected by the emerald ash borer. Dead trees of other species may also be removed to improve access and allow for a safe work environment for the crew undertaking the work.

Temporary closures on the Voyageurs Pathway - November 29 to December 21

There will be temporary closures on the Voyageurs Pathway beside Fournier Boulevard, from November 29 to December 21, 2018, between 7 am and 5 pm, to allow the removal of invasive species. A few trees will also be removed.

Invasive species removal in a section of the SJAM Winter Trail and of the Remic Rapids parking area - November 26 to December 14

The work will be undertaken on the SJAM Winter Trail in the Remic Rapids parking area, from November 26 to December 14, 2018, between 7 am and 5 pm, to allow the removal of invasive species, dead trees and trees that pose a safety risk to the public. The parking lot will be closed to the public, but will reopen once the work is completed.

Whether cross-country skiing just to enjoy being active, biking around to discover the National Capital Region, or walking to get from point A to point B: there are lots of good reasons to take the Capital Pathway, one of the largest networks of multi-use paths in North America. In summer and in winter, tens of thousands of Canadians — residents and tourists — use the pathway, including me. And because I’m working on its future development, I need your help.
